International student support
RBC staff and faculty understand that the transition to university level study can be challenging and we recognize the importance of meeting your academic and personal needs during your studies. To help you develop the necessary skills to successfully complete your studies, we offer a variety of student and academic support services catered for international students, including:
- personalized academic advising
- social activities including membership in the International Club
- tutoring and writing labs
- small interactive classes
- transfer school education
- TOEFL preparation
- 24/7 emergency assistance
Learner Mentors are members of the RBC Student Success Team. Working closely with GSSP staff, Learner Mentors will explain course prerequisites, degree path requirements, transfer options and help you develop a personalized study plan to ensure that all required courses are satisfactorily completed.

The Exceptional Student Experience at Richard Bland College helps first or second term students become academically oriented while introducing students to resources and technology for advising, registration, and college support services.
When you come to Richard Bland College of William & Mary, you bring particular passions, hobbies, and academic skills with you. Student organizations are the best place for you meet other like-minded students. You can join an established student organization or start your own. Being part of a student organization helps enhance your overall student experience of builds leadership skills. Some recent student clubs and organizations have included:

Richard Bland College is a picturesque campus with hiking and biking trails. It is also minutes away from rivers, golf courses, state parks, and more.

The Richard Bland College Library, located in the Commons building, next to Parsons Café. It is a comfortable, welcoming facility with a designated a quiet study area. The library is open Monday-Friday with onsite librarian staff assistance.
College can sometimes feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. You may seek counseling for many reasons, including personal concerns that might interrupt your learning on campus and hinder your progress. You might seek counseling because you are facing a difficult situation and need a trustworthy individual to help you achieve mental clarity as you sort through your feelings. Counseling services are offered to Richard Bland College of William & Mary students at no cost.
The information shared between you and your counselor is confidential. Exceptions are made for safety and if concerns for your well-being is in question. If you need more extensive mental health services, you may request a referral to another agency in the community.
The mission of the Richard Bland College Department of Campus Safety & Police is to provide a safe and secure living, learning, and working environment for the College community. The Department is staffed by certified police officers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
